PropLifting is a plant identification and propagation app for iOS. We designed it to work offline-first and collect as little data as possible. This policy explains what we do collect, why, and how it's handled.
Plant photos — When you identify a plant, your photo is sent to PlantNet (a plant identification service) to determine the species. Photos are stored locally on your device by default. If you enable cloud backup, they are also stored in Supabase Storage.
Plant identification data — After identification, the species name and context are sent to Anthropic (Claude API) via a Supabase Edge Function to generate care and propagation guides.
Location (optional) — If you grant location permission, coarse GPS coordinates are attached to your plant finds. This data is stored on your device and optionally synced to Supabase if you enable cloud backup.
Email (optional) — If you choose to sign in with Apple, your email address is stored in Supabase for authentication purposes only.
Usage data — We track an anonymous per-user daily count of plant identifications for rate limiting. No personal information is attached to this count.
Purchase data — Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple and RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status but do not process or store payment information.
We use the following services to operate PropLifting:
Each service processes data in accordance with their own privacy policies. We only share the minimum data required for each service to function.
Your plant data and photos are stored on your device and kept as long as you want them. If you enable cloud backup, a copy is also stored in Supabase.
You can delete individual plants or your entire account at any time. When you delete your account, all associated data is removed from our servers.

PropLifting is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version.
